Fantasy Hockey Game & Gala
Have you ever dreamed of playing hockey with a professional? Here’s your chance to see how good you are! Play a “no check” game with Brad Maxwell, Joe Dziedzic and many other NHL Alumni Players on May 1st, 2010. After the game, join us for the post game gala that features cocktail hour, plated dinner, silent auction, live music and dancing. The fun-filled evening will help raise money for the National MPS Society which exists to find cures for MPS and related diseases. We provide hope and support for affected individuals and their families through research, advocacy and awareness of these devastating diseases. What Is MPS? MPS Diseases are rare, devastating, incurable genetic diseases – mostly affecting children. Specific enzyme deficiencies cause storage in affected individuals’ cells, which in turn leads to progressive damage to their hearts, bones, joints, respiratory systems and, sometimes, central nervous systems. Although there is no cure for MPS diseases, the past decade has led to exciting advancements in gene therapy as well as to the development of enzyme replacement therapies. Learn more about some of these courageous MPS Kids as they battle these genetic diseases. |
